BOER GOATS
As the name implies, Boer goats initially hail from South Africa. They are sturdy, muscly animals and grow quickly - our bucklings have reached 100 lbs. in 6 months. We do not feed for advanced growth, but maintain a healthy mix of grain and heavy forage options. Whenever possible, we prefer to pasture-raise our animals during the warm months, giving our animals room to play and explore.

We keep a closed herd and test annually for CAE.
HORSES
The Flying T is also home to our Quarter Horse, Dallas. Sadly, our beloved Zip passed away in early 2020. Zip was our gentle, dependable family horse who we rescued in 2011. He loved little kids and was a lesson horse for many first-time riders. We acquired Dallas a few years later as a 4-H and State show horse for our eldest daughter. Nowadays, Dallas is more pasture-potato than show-pony, but still enjoys going for leisurely trail rides through the woods neighboring our property.
